WoPeD (Workflow Petri Net Designer) is an open-source software developed at the Cooperative State University Karlsruhe under the GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL). The main goal is to provide an easy-to-use software for modelling, simulating and analyzing processes described by workflow nets, a Petri net class initially introduced by Wil van der Aalst (TU Eindhoven). WoPeD is a good choice for researchers, teaching staff or students dealing with the application of Petri nets to the area of workflow or business process management. WoPeD has already been successfully used in numerous lectures and student assessment projects all over the world. The current development progress can be followed on the WoPeD project homepage at GitHub.
WoPeD.next is coming!
WoPeD now has become a younger sibling! We are proud to announce a new project where the features of the “classical” WoPeD desktop version have been transferred partly to a web-base application called WoPeD.next. This new tool (still under development and in early beta stage) supports a new seamless integration of NLP features powered by Large Language Models (LLMs). By this, you can transform a given workflow net into a textual process description and vice versa. On top of this, a chatbot has been integrated to ask questions on the model, including properties like free-choice or soundness. Try out WoPeD.next here. The development on github can be followed as well.
